This used to be one of the most popular of my surreal works back in the mid 90's. I received many, many emails from people all over the world telling me how much they like it. Many were asking about surreal posters also, which at the time I could not provide. Perhaps the beautiful shades of blue and a tranquil, spiritual feel to it makes this image so appealing. This image was featured on the inside of the CD cover of the MacFormat magazine (March 1996).
Blue is my favourite colour and this pic kinda looks like what someone on Pluto would possibly see when they're looking out into the night sky. This picture can't simply be summed up in to one word but I can think of two words: Simply magnificant!!!!
It makes me feel relaxed and lonely at the same time. This art is perfect because the way the mountains has been made makes it look more three dimensional because of its overlapping look. This piece is great.
Blue,i do like blue, the use of burgundy red in the black stone, combined with the height of the strokes is real cool :-). Should there be a white beach in front of the cliffs then this would be a wonderful painting for a piece I wrote. I like the depth and realism of the painting.
I sit in a boat and float along staill waters. In the distance a faint red sun looks over the horizon while a full moon parades nearby one last time. I look to the canyons aside me, towering old rock people turning their back on rising sun rays to protect their shrouded face. Youg to old walk back into the cliffs and I am left alone adrift in still waters facing a rising red sun.
Mr.Michalczyk, you are a true genius! The perfect pic of the deepest place on earth (or anywhere else).I can feel the death-like silence... Awesome!!!!
