"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." -- Arthur C. Clarke, "Profiles of The Future", 1961 (Clarke's third law)
The alien way of reasoning may be so vastly different from ours, that not only may such reasoning be incomprehensible but also unimaginable to humans. How a real alien environment looks like is anybody's guess. Yet, it may be completely different from what we imagine. Nevertheless, aliens are often depicted in sleek environments so I wanted to illustrate something different.
The idea behind this image is an alien shown in his native environment, telepathically manipulating a holographic display. He is on his mothership doing work of some sort. The information he perceives from the holographic display is incomprehensible to humans.
The toughest part in making this piece was to not to make the environment too prominent, yet still have a clearly distinct alien look and feel to it.

I am suffering from after cancer treatments (which may make me wish i was on one of these beautiful planets) and love to imagine the beautiful landscapes you have created. I am so sorry I cannot afford to buy them but just wanted you to know how awesome they are. Is that not good? Is that like reading a book at the library and telling the author you did and it was great? sigh. well, it was great. If ANY of this makes sense, let me know, ok? In Humor, Sherri
