Globular cluster
( see larger )
Creation year: 2007
Medium: digital
Dimensions: 7000 x 4600 px
I decided to paint a space image depicting something I haven't done before - a Globular Cluster. A globular cluster is a closely packed system of stars in a spherical form. Globular clusters typically consist of thousands to millions of old stars and can be several hundred light-years in diameter. There are about 150 currently known globular clusters in the Milky Way.
