I have been slowly "gearing up" for a new image in the same futuristic industrial style as "Suburbs 2100" or "Future Bandits". I have the main perspective and lighting in my head and only need to work out the main character and some texturing. I can't make any promises as to when the image will be done, but I will most probably start working on it at the end of next month.

Recently, I have been experimenting quite a bit with Painter. I found Painter to be an excellent tool which seems to have all the features Photoshop doesn't have. One excellent feature of this program is it's library of many various brushes, from which many act like real media brushes. The only downside I found so far, is that Painter can be a bit slow to work with, especially when using some of the more complex brushes. Despite this Painter is an excellent tool, which I will be using a lot more in the future. Highly recommended if you are into 2D graphics.
